In the 1800s, breakfast coffee became a phenomenon in Bergen, and wholesaler, entrepreneur and merchant Oluf Bjørneseth jumped on the bandwagon. Björneseths Kaffe became a big hit and for a long time it was in fierce competition with Friele to make Bergen's best coffee.
We took the original design as our starting point and adapted it to today’s coffee cans, bags, and other surfaces, while preserving the historical details.
Björneseths Coffee is sold in the café at byROMMET, right next door to Pepperkakebyen. byROMMET is a new gathering place and communal space that Bergen has opened in the heart of the city, for the benefit of all Bergen residents.
